Pan Am Games Lag in TV Ratings

ABC’s Saturday and Sunday telecasts of the 11th Pan American Games finished last and tied for sixth, respectively, among events on the three major networks, according to figures released Thursday by the A.C. Nielsen Co.
Saturday’s broadcast of the quadrennial competition among athletes from 39 nations from North, Central and South America, drew a 2.1 rating, which means it was seen in about 1.95 million households. Sunday’s telecast, which drew a 3.3 rating, was seen in 3.1 million households.
A ratings point represents 931,000 households.
