San Dimas : Farmer’s Market Planned

The City Council has agreed to help pay start-up costs for a Farmer’s Market in the Frontier Village area downtown.
Chamber of Commerce President Walter P. Nikowitz said the market could open in October if farmers are ready. If not, it will open in April, he said.
Farmers, merchants and vendors will sell fresh produce, cooked food and homemade crafts each Wednesday from 3:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. in parking lots and sidewalks along Bonita Avenue and Exchange Place.
Entertainment also will be provided.
The City Council on Tuesday agreed to give the market steering committee $4,000 for start-up expenses.
Nikowitz said proceeds from space-rental fees paid by vendors will be used for city youth and senior citizen programs.
