South Gate Purex Plant to Close in December

Dial Corp. said it will close its Purex detergent plant in South Gate on Dec. 13 because of the consolidation of its manufacturing operations.
The plant, which began manufacturing Purex in 1937, employs 114 hourly employees and 27 salaried people, Phoenix-based Dial said.
All employees will receive professional out-placement assistance.
