Herbert G. Luft; Entertainment Editor of B’nai B’rith Paper
Herbert G. Luft, 73, entertainment editor and critic for the B’nai B’rith Messenger. A native of Germany, Luft was imprisoned by the Nazis in Dachau in 1938 and escaped to England just before the start of World War II. After the war, he moved to Hollywood, where he helped write scripts and did other writing tasks for Samuel Goldwyn Studios. He had been with the B’nai B’rith Messenger since 1948 and was a two-term president of the Hollywood Foreign Press Assn. On Monday in Beverly Hills of heart disease.
