‘Roseanne’ Writers Work Hard, Not Scared
Just to set the record straight per your article on the BBC documentary about “Roseanne” (“ ‘Feeding the Monster’: Life Behind ‘Roseanne,’ ” Dec. 29): The writers do not live in terror. We work long hours, we agonize over every line, but the choice is ours. We’re after the same thing Roseanne and Tom Arnold are--the best possible show. And we work together toward that goal.
Also, the implication that Bob Myer left this show under any circumstance other than fondly is totally erroneous. He left after two years of great work to pursue his own projects. And he left with an affectionate send-off from the Arnolds.
Finally, why did you review and elaborate on a documentary that’s not even going to be on the air? Just to talk about the “monster”? C’mon guys, watch the shows, laugh and relax. It’s show business.
