USC’s Fortunes Dry Up Like a Fresno Raisin Left in Sun Too Long

A “no-win” situation occurs only when you have a “no-win” attitude. The attitudes and statements of Smith’s players, and the USC fans, were embarrassing. Future bowl selection committees should consider USC’s negative attitude and lack of support. The committees should, instead, pick teams with a winning tradition, supporting fans and a love of sport. Teams with heart, like Fresno State.
As always, USC displayed arrogance with no substance and no class. Larry Smith’s apology to his senior players is an additional display of arrogance. I think Smith, Rob Johnson and the team owe apologies to the Freedom Bowl and to Fresno State--but that would take class.
