Overdue Overtime Ordered Paid: A Los Angeles landscaping company with a branch in Irvine has been ordered to pay $35,000 in delinquent overtime pay to 23 of its employees.
An investigation by agents from the U.S. Department of Labor’s Glendale office found that officials of H. Tree Landscaping Co., which also does business as Arbor Tree Service, failed to pay tree trimmers, ground crew members and truck drivers the required time-and-a-half rate for hours worked in excess of 40 a week. The investigation covered a 20-month period from Nov. 1, 1989, to June 30, 1991.
