TUSTIN : Man Arrested in Attack on Police Car

A man was arrested after he broke a police car’s windows and emergency lights with a baseball bat, police said Monday.
Dave William Mainwearing, 37, of Garden Grove was seen Sunday about 3 p.m. drinking a beer and holding a bat outside a liquor store in the 12900 block of Newport Avenue, police Lt. Houston Williams said.
An officer went to investigate, and Mainwearing attacked the police car, causing about $5,000 worth of damage, Williams said.
Mainwearing was being held Monday in County Jail on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, brandishing a deadly weapon in front of an officer and felony vandalism, police said.
