Man Held in Attacks on Son, Grandfather

A South-Central Los Angeles man went on an apparent drug-induced rampage Sunday, attacking his grandfather and biting and nearly smothering his 2 1/2-year-old son, police said.
Officers said that when they arrived at the home they found Dwayne Johnson, 24, yelling incoherently and lying on the toddler. Johnson’s 73-year-old grandfather was stretched across the doorway with his head bleeding.
The boy, who had bite marks on both arms, three broken bones and abrasions on his face, was in critical condition at Martin Luther King Jr./Drew Medical Center. The elderly man was in critical condition at the hospital.
Johnson was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. Cause of the attack was not known, but drugs were suspected, police said.
