KEEPING TRACK: By April, the number of commuter trains heading north and south out of Orange County is going to triple. Which is why officials are worried about youngsters playing on or near the railroad tracks. The County Transportation Authority has begun putting on train-related safety demonstrations in county schools, to run through the end of May. . . . “Kids are fascinated by trains,” says authority board member Irv Pickler. “But they have to stay away from railroad tracks.”
