IRVINE : 5 School Classified Workers Win Honor

The Irvine Unified School District has selected five workers as Classified Employees of the Year.
The winner are Helen Cypress, an instructional assistant at Santiago Hills School; Bill Griffiths, a locksmith for the district; Darlene Paul, a clerk at the district office; Juan Salazar, a custodian, and Julia Wang, an instructional assistant at Rancho San Joaquin Middle School.
District officials said they selected the employees based on their significant contributions to the betterment of the district and their willingness to exceed the requirements of their jobs.
The winners will be honored at Tuesday’s school board meeting.
