SAN FERNANDO : Free Workshop on SBA Disaster Loans
- Share via
A free workshop to help earthquake-impacted business owners complete forms for Small Business Administration disaster loans--even if they have already been turned down--is scheduled tonight at Mission College’s Business and Professional Center in San Fernando.
Taught by representatives of the Small Business Development Center of North Los Angeles County, the workshop will begin at 6:30 p.m. in Room 5 of the center, at 1300 San Fernando Road.
“We found that a lot of people, because they hadn’t filled out the paperwork properly, were being turned down by the SBA,” said Ralph Kacy, the center’s research director. “They didn’t realize they could send it back, with additional information, to reapply for the loans.”
The California Community Colleges is sponsoring the workshops with a $10,000 grant, which also pays for individual counseling for business owners.
The workshop will be repeated at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 21. For more information, contact the Business and Professional Center at (818) 837-2236.
