BASKETBALL ROUNDUP : Baker Sinks Hart With Free Throw

Carlos Baker made a free throw with no time left to lift Burbank High to a 45-44 Foothill League victory over Hart on Wednesday night at Valencia High.
Baker, who finished with a game-high 14 points, missed the first of two free throws.
First-place Burbank is 12-7 and 6-1 in league play. Hart is 10-11, 3-4.
Simi Valley 83, Newbury Park 59--Eldridge Aubry had 19 points and seven rebounds for Simi Valley (16-3, 6-3) in a Marmonte League game.
Santa Paula 81, Calabasas 55--Chris Cannon scored 24 points for the Cardinals (16-2, 4-1) in a Frontier League game.
Birmingham 58, Granada Hills 39--Sophomore David Redmond had 19 points and 12 rebounds for Birmingham (10-7, 4-1) in a Northwest Valley Conference game.
Chatsworth 75, Cleveland 46--Eddie Miller had 23 points and 21 rebounds for the Chancellors (13-4, 4-0) in a Northwest Valley Conference game.
GIRLS
Alemany 67, Chaminade 23--Samantha Rigley had 19 points, seven steals and eight rebounds for Alemany (14-3, 4-0) in a Mission League game at L.A. Baptist High.
North Hollywood 84, Van Nuys 54--Anna Celaya had 24 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists and 10 steals for the Huskies (14-2, 5-0) in a Valley Pac-8 Conference game at Van Nuys.
Chatsworth 63, Cleveland 40--Tynitra Wilson had 24 points and 16 rebounds for the Chancellors (12-6, 4-1) in a Northwest Valley Conference game.
Kennedy 62, El Camino Real 45--Tami Ross had 18 points and 18 rebounds for Kennedy (14-5, 5-0) in a Northwest Valley Conference game at Kennedy.
MEN
Cal Lutheran 77, Claremont-Mudd 69--Paul LaMott scored 25 points and had 12 rebounds for the Kingsmen (11-5, 4-1) in a Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference game at Cal Lutheran.
WOMEN
Ventura 77, Cuesta 43--Julie Hardy had 20 points and 10 rebounds for the Pirates (19-1, 3-0) in a Western State Conference North Division victory.
Canyons 74, Glendale 46--Kerri Garland had 16 points and 15 rebounds for the Cougars (21-5, 3-0) in a WSC game at Canyons.
Valley 72, Bakersfield 66--Valery Brady and Maggie Hause each made two three-pointers in the final minutes to help the Monarchs (18-7, 3-0) to a WSC victory.
