Poetry Program Was Not Cost-Prohibitive
I appreciate the wonderful article you ran about the poetry program at Colston School.
This particular program was jointly funded by a grant from Ventura for Arts Education. The grant from the city was for a total of $5,600, including matching funds from each school site and California Poets in the Schools. Your article stated that the 12-session workshop cost the total grant amount, which was not the case. I would appreciate it if you could print this correction, so that schools would not feel that this program was prohibitive in cost.
Schools can reach me at 986-5800, ext. 1951, if they wish to set up a poetry-writing program for their students.
