MOORPARK : Motorist Killed After Slamming Into Tree

An unidentified man died early Monday morning when his truck drifted off Los Angeles Avenue, hit a tree and burst into flames, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The man was driving his sport utility vehicle west near Hitch Boulevard, just east of Moorpark, when for unknown reasons, he veered across the eastbound lanes and ran into a large eucalyptus tree about 12:30 a.m., CHP officials said.
Officials pronounced him dead at the scene. The coroner said the man was burned beyond recognition and could not be identified immediately.
