Parsons to Help Russia Build Disposal Unit

Parsons Corp. received an estimated $600-million contract to help Russia build and operate a chemical weapons disposal facility, the Pentagon said. The closely held Pasadena company’s contract is actually with the U.S. Army’s Corps of Engineers. It’s part of the assistance the U.S. provides Russia to help it destroy its chemical weapons stockpile. The contract runs through 2002. The facility will be located in central Russia.
