The American Cetacean Society needs volunteers to spot and track dolphins for a research project.
The spotters are to observe the marine mammals’ habits and populations along coastal Orange County. The society plans to place researchers at 13 stations on beaches April 25 to assist scientists in tracking bottle-nosed dolphins.
Volunteers need no experience to work on the project. There will be an orientation meeting at 7:30 p.m. April 23 in the Costa Mesa Neighborhood Community Center. On the sighting day, April 25, volunteer slots are open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
