Youth Expo to Feature Science, Art, Music

Youth Expo, a free event that gives young scientists, artists and musicians a chance to showcase their talents, runs today through Sunday at the Orange County Fairgrounds.
Featured is a science and engineering fair with more than 500 students from throughout Orange County competing in 17 categories. Exhibits can be viewed all three days and awards will be handed out 2:30 p.m. Sunday.
The event also includes a pampered pet contest, a paint-by-numbers exhibit, a food bazaar, middle and high school jazz bands, a talent search and 4-H rabbit, cat, dog, poultry and pig shows.
Events run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The fairgrounds are at 88 Fair Drive in Costa Mesa. Admission and parking are free.
