Discounted Haircuts Will Benefit Charity

Help fight pediatric cancer, diabetes and AIDS and get your hair cut, too.
The Thousand Oaks chapter of the City of Hope is hosting “Hopecuts ‘98” on May 3, during which three east Ventura County beauty salons will offer discounted haircuts and donate the proceeds to cancer research.
Stylists from John of Italy at 2772 Townsgate Road in Westlake Village, Jamie’s Hair Design at 2940 Thousand Oaks Blvd. and Ultima Image Salon at 2780 Cochran St. in Simi Valley will offer the discounts from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The City of Hope National Medical Center and Beckman Research Institute in Duarte is dedicated to researching and treating cancer, diabetes, HIV/AIDS and other serious illnesses.
Lori Bonfiglio, a spokeswoman for the Thousand Oaks chapter, is looking for new members living in the Conejo Valley to plan future fund-raising events.
