Body of Slaying Victim Found in Apartment

A 66-year-old man was found dead in his Hollywood Boulevard apartment, the victim of a physical assault, and several people were taken in for questioning, detectives said Thursday.
The body of Willie James Nichols, a longtime resident of Hollywood, was found about 6:40 p.m. Wednesday in an apartment in the 5900 block of Hollywood Boulevard, said Los Angeles Police Det. Daniel Jaramillo.
“The cause of death was asphyxiation,” Jaramillo said. “Hopefully in a day or two we will catch somebody.”
