The 11th annual Independence Day celebration this year is expected to exceed previous events and attract more than 5,000 to the sports park.
To plan for the show, the City Council on Tuesday will choose between a $10,500 manually fired fireworks display or a $15,000 electronically fired show, complete with synchronized music.
The event will be from 3 to 9:30 p.m., with the fireworks show beginning at 9 p.m.
“We’ve got one of the greatest locations in South County,” said Al King, director of community services. “We have a lot of residents who live on the hillsides so they can stay home that night and view the show.”
