Camarillo High scored twice in the first inning on a sacrifice fly by Jenn Byrne and a run-scoring single by Ali Taverner and defeated Thousand Oaks, 2-0, Friday in a Marmonte League game at Thousand Oaks.
Sophomore Kathryn Nevard (5-0) pitched a one-hitter with six strikeouts for Camarillo (9-1, 5-0 in league play). Nevard walked one.
Kim Martin (3-1) allowed six hits, struck out one and walked none for Thousand Oaks (7-3, 3-2).
Pacifica 5, Crescenta Valley 0--Amanda Freed held the Falcons (11-3) to two hits and struck out 12 in a pool-play game of the Woodbridge tournament.
Crescenta Valley 7, Bellflower 0--Melinda Moulden and Heidi Hucthausen each had two hits, a triple and two RBIs for Crescenta Valley (12-4) in a Woodbridge tournament game in Irvine.
La Palma Kennedy 2, Saugus 1--The Centurions (8-6) scored in the top of the seventh inning but Kennedy responded with two runs in the bottom of the inning in the Woodbridge tournament.
Calabasas 12, Nordhoff 0--Amy Rosson and Heather Bell each had three hits and one run batted in, and Sara Hall had two hits and three RBIs for the Coyotes (9-4-1, 6-0) in a Frontier League victory at Calabasas.
Candy Wang (3-1) of Calabasas pitched a two-hitter, struck out eight and did not walk a batter.
Moorpark 3, Malibu 2--Jenni Perez scored from third base in the eighth inning on a passed ball to lift host Moorpark (5-2, 5-1) to a Frontier League victory.
Kim Wynigear doubled in pinch-runner Kristi Bentley in the seventh inning to tie the score, and Meaghan Finnerty scored for Moorpark in the sixth on a groundout by Perez.
Paraclete 11, Bishop 0--Amanda Wachsmuth threw a no-hitter and also had three hits and two RBIs for the Spirits (8-4-1, 2-0) in a High Desert League victory at Jane Reynolds Park in Lancaster.
San Marcos 6, Ventura 5--Danette Cruz had three singles for host Ventura (3-7, 1-5) in an eight-inning Channel League game.
Sylmar 17, Van Nuys 2--Krystal Mejia was four for four, scored five runs and drove in nine runs for the Spartans in a Valley Pac-8 Conference game that was called after six innings at Van Nuys (1-7, 0-4).
Kasondra Acosta pitched a no-hitter with eight strikeouts and five walks for Sylmar (8-5, 5-0).
Kennedy 6, Taft 2--Lina Gutierrez had three hits and Briana Mathiesen and Patty Del Real each added two hits for Kennedy (13-5, 4-1) in a Northwest Valley Conference game at Shoup Park in Woodland Hills.
La Canada 5, South Pasadena 1--Megan Stevens and Courtney Dickens combined on a seven-hitter for La Canada in a Rio Hondo League game at La Canada.
Casey Johnson had a two-run triple in the fourth inning for the Spartans (9-3, 4-0). Stephanie Tenerelli had a run-scoring triple, and Lauren Guza and Dickens had run-scoring singles.
