A Florida man was killed Wednesday when he was thrown from his car in a traffic collision at a Mission Viejo intersection, police said.
Linden Neff, 74, of Sun City, Fla., was visiting a son who lives in Mission Viejo. Police said Neff was traveling south on Marguerite Parkway at 11:15 a.m. when his rented car collided with a westbound car driven by Bernard Larsen, 38, of Rancho Santa Margarita.
Officers said Neff was not wearing his seat belt when the accident occurred, at the intersection with Los Alisos Boulevard.
Larsen and his passengers, who were wearing seat belts, were uninjured, police said.
The cause of the accident is under investigation, Orange County Sheriff’s Lt. Stan Jacquot said. Police are trying to determine whether either car ran a red light.
