Walt Disney Co. will expand its Club Disney concept for families with children under 10 to Phoenix by December and to Denver and other U.S. locations starting in 1999. The indoor centers, which feature varied play areas, snack bars and gift shops, opened their first two locations in Southern California last year. Club Disney is part of Disney’s 2-year-old regional entertainment division, which also includes the recently launched DisneyQuest and ESPN Grill. Shares of Burbank-based Disney fell $1.25 to close at $31.75 on the NYSE during a broad market sell-off.
