Animal Defenders Disrupt Fur Sale

Six animal-rights activists disrupted a Columbus Day sale at Macy’s by chaining themselves together inside the store’s fur salon in New York’s Herald Square, police said. The three women and three men were charged with criminal trespassing, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. The Animal Defense League said the activists shut down what was advertised as the largest fur sale in Macy’s history. Police said the activists told them they did not belong to any particular organization.
