Las Vegas Film Festival to Salute George Sidney

The Las Vegas International Film Festival, which will be held Sept. 16-20 at the Century Orleans 12 Theaters at the Orleans Hotel, 4500 W. Tropicana Blvd., will present its first lifetime achievement award to director George Sidney at its closing night gala Sept. 19.
Along with such notable MGM musicals as “Anchors Aweigh,” “The Harvey Girls” and “Annie Get Your Gun,” Sidney directed Elvis Presley and Ann-Margret in “Viva Las Vegas.”
