No-Stopping Zone OKd Near School

The City Council this week unanimously approved creating a no-stopping zone in a neighborhood by Troy High School in an effort to reduce traffic.
Residents have complained about the number of vehicles using Ladera Vista Drive for dropping off and picking up Troy High School students, city traffic engineer Mark Miller said. No-parking signs are posted on the street, but cars had continued to stop in front of homes and driveways.

The no-parking signs will be replaced with no-stopping signs by the first day of school Tuesday. Stopping will be prohibited from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Residents who live on Ladera Vista Drive were 100% in favor of the new zoning, Miller said. Police also supported the measure.
“The frustration we’ve gotten was unbelievable,” resident Wallace A. Craig said. “It was a zoo.”
