Airbus Plane Proposal

Airbus Industrie said it sent seven governments a proposal to build a large military transport plane for them in an effort to enter a potentially lucrative market. The European plane maker now builds only civilian aircraft.
The plane, which is being called the A-400M, probably would compete with Boeing Co.’s C-17 and Lockheed Martin Corp.’s C-130J.
