Messier said he hurt himself Thursday in the 6-5 overtime loss to the Penguins on his first shift when his skate caught a groove in the ice.

A slew of infractions drew San Jose Sharks right wing Brantt Myhres a 12-game suspension that will cost him $31,250.04 of his season salary.
Less than seven minutes into a game against the Kings on Feb. 6, Myhres left the bench illegally, and hit Mattias Norstrom in the head with his stick.
