Cleveland 79, Chatsworth 72--Kent Dennis scored 12 of his 33 points in the first quarter and the Cavaliers (20-4) wrapped up an undefeated West Valley League season with a victory at Cleveland.

Dennis notched 29 of his points in the first three quarters, and Larry Knox had eight of his 13 points in the fourth period for Cleveland, which has won 11 consecutive games and 16 of its last 17.

Kennedy 71, Taft 63--Nana Gbewonyo scored 29 points and the Golden Cougars (14-10, 5-5) overcame a 51-46 deficit after three quarters in a West Valley League game at Taft. Jozzer Webster added 10 points for Kennedy.

Sophomore Shayne Berry had 21 points and eight assists, and John Mason had 15 points and 12 rebounds for Taft (11-9, 4-6).

San Fernando 71, El Camino Real 57--Jason Tubbs scored 22 points and Mike Hernandez had 20 to help the Tigers clinch the North Valley League championship at El Camino Real.

Roger Martinez had 11 points, 10 assists and five steals for San Fernando (9-16, 6-4).

Justin Saad-Anthony had 21 points and 11 rebounds for the Conquistadores (11-13, 4-6).

Monroe 57, Poly 55--Eric Serna made an eight-foot jump shot with eight seconds left in overtime to break a 55-55 tie and give the host Vikings (13-12, 7-3) the Mid-Valley League title.

Serna, who scored seven of Monroe’s eight points in overtime, finished with 15 points. Derrell Williams added 16 points and 10 rebounds for Monroe, and Robert Palafox had 12 points and five steals.

James Word scored 19 points and Mike Mgdesyan had 13 for Poly (13-11, 7-3).

Canoga Park 69, North Hollywood 68--Mike Gomez made two free throws with 15 seconds left in overtime to give Canoga Park a 69-66 lead in an East Valley League game at North Hollywood.

Richard Sherman made a basket with five seconds left for North Hollywood (12-12, 4-6), but Canoga Park (4-20, 1-9) ran out the clock. John Townsend and Jammie Harris each scored 14 points for Canoga Park.

Jason McKissick had 20 points and Sherman added 18 for the Huskies.

Royal 90, Moorpark 65--Brandon Foster scored 23 points, making all 13 of his free throws, and the Highlanders (10-15, 4-8) used a 30-12 run in the third quarter of a Marmonte League game at Royal to earn a playoff berth.

Todd Tomlinson scored 16 points for Moorpark (11-14, 2-9).

Thousand Oaks 64, Westlake 57--Tim Chevalier, who scored 10 points, made a three-point basket to give the Lancers (13-13, 3-9) the lead for good, 56-55, with three minutes left in a Marmonte League game at Thousand Oaks.

Oak Park 51, Carpinteria 48--Danny Schneider, who scored 15 points, made two free throws with 2.7 seconds left to give the Eagles their final margin of victory in a Tri-Valley League game at Oak Park.

Oak Park (10-13, 4-4) clinched third place. It was the first league defeat for first-place Carpinteria (12-11, 7-1).
