Arthur Barrett, a longtime public relations consultant to commercial real estate firms in Orange County, was named editor of the Orange County Report, a Newport Beach-based real estate newsletter.
Barrett, 50, also becomes an investor in the newsletter with publisher and founder Martin Brower. Barrett will handle day-to-day news gathering and writing duties of the monthly newsletter, which does not disclose circulation figures.
Brower, a former Irvine Co. public relations executive, launched the newsletter in 1984 and has been its sole producer. He will pen nine columns a year.
Since 1986, Barrett has owned his own public relations company, Barrett & Associates, which represents commercial real estate clients such as Sares-Regis Group and Lee & Associates.
Barrett said no major changes are planned for the November issue, his first as editor.
