Burroughs’ Duo Cutting Opponents Off at Pass

There are two defenders Crescenta Valley quarterback Scott Vossmeyer should try to avoid Friday night.
Keith Jarbo and Randy Beckmann have accounted for all of Burroughs’ seven interceptions this season.
Jarbo, a 6-foot-2, 200-pound junior free safety, has four interceptions, but he owes Beckmann one. A penalty against Jarbo cost Beckmann a 76-yard interception return for a touchdown against La Canada.
“[Jarbo] didn’t know that you can’t hit a guy 80 yards away from the ball even though it’s a clean hit,” Coach Keith Knoop said. “He knows now.”
Meanwhile, luck hasn’t improved much for Beckmann, a 6-foot, 200-pound senior linebacker and fullback. His 40-yard touchdown run against Glendale last week was nullified by a clipping penalty. However, Jarbo was not the culprit.
