* South Korea’s Federation of Small and Medium Businesses is forming a group composed of Daewoo Motor Co.’s auto component suppliers, venture investment companies and other small companies to raise $1.5 billion in an effort to buy the debt-ridden auto maker. Hyundai Motor Co., South Korea’s biggest auto maker, has said it will bid for Daewoo. The company and group both oppose having Daewoo be sold to a foreign company.

* Toy retailer FAO Schwarz filed suit seeking to block former Chairman and Chief Executive John Eyler from moving to rival Toys R Us Inc., claiming that the move violates certain contractual agreements with Eyler and between FAO Schwarz and Toys R Us. Toys R Us officials could not immediately be reached for comment.
