LANCASTER — A sheriff’s deputy charged with child molestation has pleaded not guilty.
Douglas Mills, 33, entered pleas Tuesday to two counts of lewd and lascivious acts with a child younger than 14 and one count of making terrorist threats, according to the district attorney’s office.
Mills was charged after a six-month internal investigation, authorities said.
The eight-year Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department veteran was relieved of duty without pay as of Jan. 14, said Deputy Jim Hellmold, a spokesman for the department.
A preliminary hearing date will be set on Feb. 17, according to the district attorney’s office.
