The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular unleaded gas has hit a record $2 a gallon in Southern California with prices up 40 cents a gallon since February, according to the Automobile Club of Southern California. The club’s monthly Fuel Gauge report, released Tuesday, is based on a survey of 2,800 gas stations.
