Alleged Bounty on Officers Investigated

Los Angeles police are investigating an alleged bounty placed on the heads of Rampart police officers by a street gang, authorities said Tuesday.
For about two weeks, police have been pursuing reports that a gang has offered money for anyone who injures or kills officers from the Rampart station, said Capt. Michel Moore.
It is not clear whether the threats are real, Moore said. Anyone with information can call police at (213)485-4061.
The Rampart Division has been the subject of intense scrutiny since former Officer Rafael Perez alleged that officers at the station engaged in a number of criminal activities.
