City Plays Two at Birmingham in the Semifinals

In a first for City Section baseball, Birmingham High will host a City Championship day-night doubleheader today.
In one semifinal, Chatsworth (29-2) will meet Banning (22-11) at 3 p.m., followed by Poly (22-6-1) taking on Roosevelt (23-8-1) at 7 p.m. The winners will play Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at Dodger Stadium.
Tickets for the semifinals will cost $4 for adults and $2 for students. Each game will have a separate admission charge.
In the City Invitational semifinals, El Camino Real (15-13) will play Cleveland (21-11) at Pierce College, with North Hollywood (16-13) facing Eagle Rock (15-9) at Grant. Both games begin at 3 p.m.
The winners play at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Dodger Stadium.
