Nearly a month after a car accident in West Hollywood left her seriously injured, the Old Hollywood fixture Zsa Zsa Gabor is rapidly recovering and will celebrate Christmas today with her husband, complete with a special dinner and her many pet dogs, at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
Gabor is in fair condition, a hospital spokeswoman said. Her husband, the German prince and duke Frederic von Anhalt, said Gabor has been in good spirits since starting physical therapy, and might return to their Bel-Air home within 10 days.
“I must say she is recovering very quickly,” he said. “At the beginning she was very moody; she wanted to give up. Now she wants to go home fast. She wants to recover and to ride her horses.”
Gabor, 85, was in the passenger seat of a car that jumped a curb at Sunset Boulevard and Sweetzer Avenue and slammed into a light pole the afternoon of Nov. 28. The actress, who was not wearing a safety belt at the time, suffered broken bones and cuts. A sheriff’s traffic deputy said Tuesday that the accident is still under investigation.
Von Anhalt said he has decorated Gabor’s room for the holidays. “We’re going to celebrate and have a nice Christmas dinner ... with Christmas cookies,” he said.
