Woman Killed, Man Wounded in Shooting

A drive-by shooting late Wednesday night in the unincorporated Rosewood area of South Los Angeles took the life of Linda Mixon, 46, of Willowbrook and wounded her male companion, sheriff’s deputies said Thursday.
Mixon was shot once in the head on Cairns Avenue and died at the scene. The 41-year-old man with her was in satisfactory condition after being shot in the legs.
