Fire That Killed Girl Investigated

Sheriff’s and county fire officials continued their search Thursday for the cause of a Palmdale house fire that killed a 6-year-old girl and critically injured her brothers and uncle.
Rochelle Fuentes died at the scene, and Joseph Jacobo, 4, and Jacob Jacobo, 3, were on respirators and in critical condition at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles, said hospital spokesman Steve Rutledge.
The home had no smoke detectors, sheriff’s officials said.
Authorities have found no evidence of a crime, said Sheriff’s Lt. Marilyn Baker. “This was a tragic house fire, “ she said.
