A Redlands police officer was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of molesting two girls while off duty, authorities said.
Justin Jimenez, 29, was charged with four counts of lewd and lascivious acts against minors, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.
Jimenez allegedly molested two girls, now 13 and 11, at his Redlands home between 1996 and 1999, authorities said.
An investigation began after the older girl told a counselor on April 30 that she had been molested by Jimenez, authorities said.
Detectives said they learned of a second alleged victim during the investigation.
Jimenez had been on paid administrative leave pending the results of an internal investigation by the Police Department, said spokeswoman Kim Doll.
Jimenez, a Redlands officer since January 1997, was being held at West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga.
