Lightning Kills Giraffe at Disney Theme Park

Lightning struck and killed a giraffe at Disney’s Animal Kingdom in Lake Buena Vista as the animal roamed among tourists, company officials said.
The accident occurred as a severe lightning storm moved over the Kilimanjaro Safari attraction, a Disney spokeswoman said, adding that Betsy the giraffe, who was 6 years old, was the first animal to die from a lightning strike at the park.
It was unclear whether any tourists saw the lightning strike.
