An Italian judge indicted five Tunisians for alleged links to Al Qaeda.
The defendants had been arrested in October, and a search of the men’s apartments in Milan turned up camouflage uniforms and forged documents.
The ANSA news agency said prosecutors accused the suspects of having formed a terrorist cell for attacks inside and outside Italy. The five were charged with “subversive association aimed at international terrorism,” a charge introduced shortly after the Sept. 11 attacks.
