Transit of Choice

Re “The Gold Line Links Sunshine With L.A. Noir,” Commentary, July 23: It amazes me to learn that most transit riders are riders “without a choice.” Why anyone would prefer to sit in miserable traffic, spew poison into the air and spend a fortune on gas and parking rather than take advantage of the ease, comfort, speed and low cost of our excellent (if limited) public rail transportation is beyond me. I have a choice, and I choose the Red Line. It’s a no-brainer.
