Dave Galarneau, 75; Coach at Southland Parochial Schools

Dave Galarneau, 75, who coached football, basketball and baseball for 35 years at Southland parochial schools, died Wednesday at a North Hollywood retirement home of complications from a stroke.
Galarneau retired in 1995 after coaching at Salesian in Los Angeles. He also had served as athletic director at Providence in Burbank and coached at Notre Dame in Sherman Oaks, Chaminade in West Hills, Bell-Jeff in Burbank and St. Genevieve in Panorama City.
Born in Dodge City, Iowa, Galarneau served in the Marines before settling in Los Angeles. He was an officer in the Los Angeles Police Department for 25 years while coaching.
