Parents Convicted in Boy’s Starvation Death

A couple were convicted of involuntary manslaughter for starving their 4-year-old son to death, but a mistrial was declared on a third-degree murder charge after the jury deadlocked.
Prosecutors said they have not decided whether to retry Anthony E. and Shenique T. Thomas, who also were convicted of aggravated assault and endangering the welfare of a child. When their son Quincy died last July, he weighed 20 pounds, and mattress stuffing and insulation were found in his digestive tract and under his fingernails, prosecutors said.
