Maybe Angels Need That Iraq Spokesman

Angel Ministers of Propaganda Bill Stoneman and Mike Scioscia have insisted all season that the 2003 Angels are a “championship-caliber” ballclub. This contrasts directly with what we actually see on the field: A team that features horrible starting pitching, base-running gaffes and a sputtering offense that often scores just enough runs to lose by one.
Angel fans have a keen eye for mediocre baseball, having watched decades of it. We know mediocre when we see it, and the 2003 Angels are just that.
For the Propaganda Ministers to insist otherwise is insulting.

So Jarrod Washburn wants to test free agency, because the Angels have not given him the long-term or financial love that he wanted. Memo to Jarrod: Try not blowing five-run leads; try holding opponents to fewer than five runs a game; try carrying your weight for the pitching staff. Long-term financial love does not come to one-year wonders.
