Re “O.C. Slaying Suspect Had Eluded Jail,” July 10:
Tamara Bohler, arrested in August 2000, March 2001, and March and April 2003 for driving under the influence, walked away free. Had she been incarcerated, 13-year-old Alex Weber might be alive today and his father, Jean Marc Weber, unharmed.
Meanwhile, the district attorney’s office is scratching its head, blaming a “time-lapse problem” and demanding a pay increase. An investigation of its inaction and a lawsuit by Jean Marc Weber seem in order. Needless to say, the diligence and dedication of our Sheriff’s Department continues to set an example for all who serve the citizens of Orange County.
