Iverson’s 51 Points Not Enough for 76ers

Allen Iverson became only the seventh player in NBA history to score at least 50 points in consecutive games, but he fouled out with 4.5 seconds left, putting Mehmet Okur on the line for the winning free throws in Utah’s 103-101 victory over the 76ers on Monday night.
Iverson followed up his 54-point game in Milwaukee with 51 this time, becoming the first 76er player to score 50 in consecutive games and the first Philadelphia player to accomplish the feat since Wilt Chamberlain for the Warriors in 1962.
The last player to achieve the feat was Antawn Jamison in December 2000 with Golden State.
Phoenix 107, Denver 105 -- Amare Stoudemire had 32 points, and Quentin Richardson tipped in a shot at the buzzer to help the visiting Suns extend their winning streak to nine games.
Washington 103, Golden State 101 -- Gilbert Arenas drove the length of the floor and scored an acrobatic layup with less than a second left to lift the Wizards at Oakland.
Houston 114, Toronto 102 -- Yao Ming scored a season-high 40 points, and Tracy McGrady had 34 points to lead the Rockets at Houston.
Chicago 92, Portland 87 -- Ben Gordon scored 23 points, and the Bulls defeated the Trail Blazers at Chicago.
