Xerox Profit Rises on Color Equipment Sales

Xerox Corp. said fourth-quarter earnings rose 8% on increased sales of new color equipment, lower costs and the weaker U.S. dollar.
Net income climbed to $240 million, or 24 cents a share, from $222 million, or 22 cents, a year earlier, Chief Executive Anne Mulcahy said. Sales of Stamford, Conn.-based Xerox rose 0.8% to $4.3 billion.
Xerox shares gained 23 cents to $15.52 on the NYSE.
